ジャズとＲ＆Ｂの境界線を行ったり来たり
取り敢えず今までにマイナーレーベルから出ていたサヴォイ系の個人所有の７８回転盤からのディスク・ダビングで
製作されていたＣＤやLPレコードはもう要りません、はっきり言って用無し。
さすがマスター・ディスクからマスタリングしているだけに音が良い！！凄い！！出来れば他のマイナーなアーティストの
作品もこういった形で集大成が出てくれたらなぁ・・・
・・・それはともかく、「The Complete Savoy Recordings」というタイトルが示している通りOtisがサヴォイ系に残した
作品を網羅しているだけに鬼に金棒、 まだ少女だったEsther Phillipsの愛らしいい歌声、Big Jay McNeelyのブロウ、
そして当時の雰囲気を伝えてくれるHunter Hancock(顔は俳優の庄司永建に似てます)司会のラジオＤＪ番組のテーマ、
「Hunter Hancock Theme 」が収められているのもうれしい。
ちなみに可愛らしいカバー絵はJohnny Otis御大の筆による物です
